What's it all about?

After finding myself single in my mid-50s, I could not find any quality events to go to comfortably on my own. If I wanted to go to the pub and meet up, or on a dog walk with a carvery lunch afterwards, this is not really my thing.
​
I work hard and like to go to nice places and engage in fun and interesting activities.
​
I decided to launch Select Events, emphasising singles in their 50s, 60s & 70s coming along to unique events by themselves and making new friends.
​
I do not call these 'dating' events simply because I am keen to remove any stigma for singles who are not necessarily looking to meet a partner but new friends.
This also means that many singles 'click' with each other without the added pressure to do so.

Age Range 50 - 70 plus
Everyone is welcome and we are totally flexible on age as it's just a number!
For many people, like myself, committing to attend an event like this could be quite daunting, but from your initial enquiry, I am on the end of an email, text or phone.
Presently I am personally hosting each event, greeting each of my guests individually for the evening, and making their introductions.....the rest is down to you to relax and enjoy the knowledge that most other people attending feel the same.

Venues will change every month, and the reason for this is because we aspire to run events that are fun, quirky and non-medicore.
To name a few; Guided tours, including lunch in Greenwich, Winchester & Arundel.

Treasure Hunt at the Victoria & Albert Museum.

Vineyard Tour, Wine Tasting, Cheese & Charcuterie afternoon at Quob Park Estate.

Summer Picnics - Free to attend

Sailing days out on the Solent.

Our Aim
Our new membership plan aims to provide carefully chosen benefits for our members to suit them. These events will continuously be reviewed and enhanced and more so when we return to 'everyday' life.
​Our aim - as many events/get-togethers as we can run for free will be scheduled. Paid events will be developed and delivered based on our member feedback forms and short online surveys.
​All members will have completed the basic membership form, which enables us to build a clear picture of all participants to provide value for money at all times.
It always amazes us to see how many things people have in common or how many people think they are the only ones
who have a weird bucket list/who want to go on safari/route66 on a motorbike/explore what the UK has to offer - with someone who feels the same.
Guests’ details are not shared with anyone unless instructed directly by a guest.
